Trade Name: Pyrolysis Gasoline
Synonym: Dry pyrolysis Gasoline (DPG), pyrolysis Gasoline Gas, (PGG)...
Section 1:
Product Description: Trade Name: Pyrolysis Gasoline Synonym: Dry pyrolysis Gasoline (DPG), pyrolysis Gasoline Gas, (PGG), Hydrogenated pyrolysis Gasoline (PFG). Product Code: 1004. Chemical Name: Hydrogenated pyrolysis Gasoline.
Section 2:
Hazards Identification: Inhalation: Inhalation: In a confined or poorly ventilated areas, vapors can readily accumulate and can cause unconsciousness and death. Signs and symptoms of excessive exposure may be anesthetic or narcotic effects, central nervous system effects, may cause initiation to upper respiratory tract (nose and throat) and lungs and may increase sensitivity to epinephrine and increase.
Skin Contact: Short single exposure may cause skin initiation. Pro-longed or repeated exposure may cause skin burns. Repeated contact may cause drying or flaking of skin. May cause more severe response if confined to skin. A single prolonged exposure is not likely to result in the material being absorbed through skin in harmful amounts. Repeated skin exposure may result in absorption of harmful amounts.
Eye Contact: Vapors may initiate eyes. May cause moderate initiation with corneal inquiry. Vapors may cause Lacrimation (tears).
Ingestion: Single dose oral toxicity is considered to be low. Small amounts swallowed incidental to normal handling operation are not likely to cause injury; however swallowing amounts larger than that may cause serious injury even death. If aspirated (Liquid enters the lung) may be rapidly absorbed through the lugs and result in inquiry to other body systems. Ingestion may cause initiation of the month throat, and gastrointestinal tract.
Section 3:
First Aid Measures:
Inhalation: Remove to fresh air. If not breathing, give artificial respiration. If breathing is difficult oxygen should be administered by qualified personnel. Call a physician or transport to a medical facility.
Note to physician: The decision of whether to induce vomiting or not should be made by an attending physician. If lavage is performed, suggest end tracheal and or esophageal control. Danger from lung aspiration must be weighed against toxicity when considering emptying the stomach. If burn is present, treat as any thermal burn, after decontamination. Exposure may increase “myocardial limitability” Do not administer sympathomimetic drugs unless absolutely necessary. No specific antidote. Supportive care. Treatment based on judgment of the physician in response to reactions of the patient.
Skin Contact: Wash off in following water or shower.
Eye Contact: Irrigate with following water immediately and continuously for 15 minutes. Consult medical personnel.
Ingestion: Do not induce vomiting. Call a physician and or transport to emergency facility immediately.
Section 4:
Fire and Explosion Hazards:
Flashpoint: -60 F, (-54 C).
Lower Flammable Limits: 1 VOL % (Estimated).
Upper Flammable Limits: 8 VOL % (Estimated).
Auto Ignition: 498.
Extinguishing Media: Water fog or fine spray, carbon dioxide, dry chemical foam. General purpose synthetic foams (Including AFFF type) or protein foams are preferred if available. Alcohol resistant foams (ATC type) may function. Do not use direct water stream. Straight or direct water streams may not be effective to extinguish fire.
Fire Fighting and Procedures: Keep unnecessary people away. Isolate area and deny unnecessary entry. Burning liquids may be moved by flushing with water to protect personnel and minimize property damage. Use water spray to cool fire exposed containers and fire affected zone until fire is out and danger of re ignition has passed. A void accumulation of water. Product may be camed across water surface spreading fire or contacting an ignition source. Eliminate ignition source. Stay upwind. Keep out of low areas where (Fumes) can cumulate. Do not use direct water stream. May spread fire. Water may not be effective in extinguishing fire. Move container from area if this is possible without hazard.
Section 5:
Toxicological Information:
Skin: The dermal LD50 has not been determined.
Ingestion: Single dose oral LD50 has not determined.
Mutagen city (Effects on Genetic Material): Contains a few components which have caused some mutagenic activity in vitro (test tube) tests and in animals.
