Magnum EFIE will modify the O2 sensor signal in a 0 ... 50 % range delivering fluctuating fuel rich signal to the ECU.

MAGNUM EFIE has been developed to engines installed with popular water4gas generators. It modifies the Oxygen Sensor signal in fuel injected vehicles controlled by Electronic Control Unit. When installing an H2O electrolyzer more should be processed to achieve extreme MPG increases. After we inject HHO gas into the engine the oxygen sensor reports a change in the exhaust gas consistence to the Electronic Control Unit accordingly ECU intends to fix the problem encountered: enriches the mixture. The solution is the EFIE. Fuel lean report will also indicate an error code triggering the check engine light and cause ECU safe / limp mode accordingly. Safe mode can dramatically decrease MPG benefits resulted by HHO generator. EFIE is not intended to be a fuel saver by itself but can warrant the accustomed 30-50% MPG improvement if you use HHO electrolyzer. In case of returning CEL issue, oxygen sensor simulator might be required on vehicles fitted with multi-oxygen sensor system.

WORKING THEORY

An automotive oxygen sensor, also known as an O2 sensor, lambda probe, lambda sensor, or EGO (exhaust gas oxygen) sensor, is a small sensor inserted into the exhaust system of a petrol engine to measure the concentration of oxygen remaining in the exhaust gas to allow an electronic control unit (ECU) to control the efficiency of the combustion process in the engine. In most modern automobiles, these sensors are attached to the engine's exhaust manifold to determine whether the mixture of air and gasoline going into the engine is rich (too much fuel) or lean (too little fuel).
This information is sent to the engine management ECU computer, which adjusts the mixture to give the engine the best possible fuel economy and lowest possible exhaust emissions.

Since the air/fuel ratio in injected up-to-date vehicles is regulated by the Electronic Control Unit (ECU) and most factory ECUs are set to maintain a 14.7:1 air/fuel ratio; this is known as a stoichiometric fuel mix, user is unable to trim manually or mechanically this ratio as by early models.
If too much oxygen is detected, the ECU thinks the mixture is too lean, and delivers more gas, if less oxygen is sensed, the ECU thinks the mixture is too rich and injects less gas to the engine.

If you install a hydrogen generator the oxygen content in the exhaust will rise. The more powerful HHO system you apply the more oxygen will be in the exhaust gas and this will result a fuel lean status accordingly ECU will send more fuel thus actually you will not save fuel despite this was the main reason you installed the H2O system for.


We need to trick the ECU into thinking that the engine is still burning is inefficient within the combustion chamber, by fooling the computer to sense there is less oxygen in the exhaust than there actually is. The amount of modification to the voltage signal is simply adjustable thru the enhancer unit to accommodate different amounts of hydrogen being injected.

MAGNUM Electronic Fuel Injection Enhancer will modify the O2 sensor signal in a 0 ... 50 % range indicating the ECU a regular fluctuating fuel rich signal. This way ECU will reduce the amounts of injected fuel and you can improve the MPG by up to 50 %.

The unit is fully adjustable. EFIE adjuster wires inline between the oxygen sensor and ECU.

INSTALLATION

1. Find the signal wire of (prior - upstream) oxygen sensor according to the chart below.
2. Splice the signal wire and contact the black cable to the o2 sensor side, the yellow cable to the other end.
3. Contact the red wire to the ignition +12V and the black to the ground, chassis or battery negative.

If the engine is fitted with two precat oxygen sensors in each bank before the catalytic converter, you will need two units.
If the sensors are positioned in line you have to wire up the chip to the prior sensor only.

Adjustment

Full left position means factory signal the more you turn the potentiometer clockwise the leaner the mixture will be. Full right position means 50% leaning.
Optimal point should be around 30-35% reported by our technicians after several thousand installation.

INSTALLATION

1. Cut the harness of oxygen sensor.
2. See colors & operations of each wire in car wiring diagram or search for your combination in color chart below.
3. Connect the proper wires with terminals provided in the package or solder them in place. (Hydrochloric acid recommended by soldering.)
4. Contact red power wire to ignition +12V and ground the black wire to the chassis or battery negative terminal.
5. Mount the unit to any fixture as far from heat produced by the engine or the exhaust as possible. Lowest temp recommended.


Adjustment

Prior to installation, reset the ECU. When module receives +/- 12V unit is on. Basically you do not need to perform signal adjustment (1.0 Volt).

If check engine light does not illuminate at all do not adjust the unit. If CEL still indicates O2 sensor signal related error code, begin Signal adjustment with the help of screw#1.

1. Remove battery + terminal and contact it to battery negative for 30 seconds to cancel ECU error code or use diagnostic tool.
2. Turn on the ignition key, status LED will light up.
3. Turn the screw#1 counterclockwise (left).
4. Start the engine, dial the screw clockwise (right) slowly.
5. Keep on adjustment steadily until signal related error code vanished. Reset might be required after each trial.

Heater adjustment

1. Crank the engine, turn the screw#2 to left end position and check the check engine light. If no CEL/MIL do not dial that screw any more.
2. If CEL is still lighting, turn the screw#2 with 1/8 turns slowly clockwise (right) until heater related error code vanished. ECU Reset might be required after each trial.

Heater dial can be determined by an easy Amp test as well. Take a multi-meter and turn it to AMP mode. Contact stock sensor's one heater wire to the battery negative terminal, the red lead of multi-meter to the battery positive and black lead to the other heater wire. Check and record the AMP reading. Repeat procedure with the simulator and set the same AMP reading while dialing screw#2. Complete the wiring afterwards. If no result when reach left end, turn the screw clockwise until CEL cancelled.

WORKING THEORY

Dyno-BOOST
will supply modified signals to your jet ski's ECU. The ECU then adjusts air/fuel ratio and secondarily timing advance curves to new performance settings, in addition this MAGNUM upgrade does have an absolutely outstanding O2 sensor control circuit integrated into the unit for those editions having oxygen sensor.

This unit is controlling injection in multiple ways.
First, it modifies signals being read by the ECU, resulting adjustment to the AFR, from the second hand it monitors the signal of O2 sensor and creates intervention into its signal, accordingly the chip module does not let the ECU limit our modified setting of air/fuel ratio.


After installation of Dyno-Boost the engine will run harsh. HP and Nm data will be upgraded. INSTALLATION
  1. Locate the IAT (Intake Air Temperature) sensor in the intake.
  2. Cut its signal wire and contact the purple wires to the two ends. Direction does not matter.
  3. Find the oxygen sensor (if any) in the exhaust.
  4. Splice blue cables to O2 sensor's signal wire according to the following wiring table.
  5. Contact the red cable of doubled wire to the ignition battery + 12V, and the black thread to the ground or battery negative.
