It is also known as extract of hydrocotyle,Fo-ti-tieng extract, gotu kola extract, hydrocotyl extract, hydrocotyleasiatica extract, Asiatic pennywort, Indian pennywort, hydrocotyle,Mandukaparni (Hindi), luei gong gen (Chinese) and is an aromatic that is indigenous to bothtropical and subtropical areas and is found in India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka,Madagascar and South Africa.

Resveratrol (trans-3,5,4'-trihydroxystilbene), belongs to a class ofpolyphenolic compounds called stilbenes , found largely in the skins of redgrapes and root of Polygonum cuspidatum Sieb. et Zucc ( Japanese knotweed), isa component of Ko-jo-kon, an oriental medicine used to treat diseases of theblood vessels, heart and live..
